Lichens are small plants consisting of permanent, self supporting, intimate association of Algae and Fungi. Crustose, Folioge and Fruticose Lichens are main types of Lichen. They play very important role in Ecological Succession.
Many Lichens are economically very important. Besides, they are also use as Bioindicator.
